Travel Information

Flights from London and Prague:

The flight time from London to Prague is approximately 2 hours. Prague is one hour ahead of London, so 3 hours "clock time" passes on the outbound journey, and only one hour on the return sector.

You can get return flights on "low-cost" carriers, including all taxes (but not charges for baggage in the aircraft hold, or "speedy boarding", etc.) from London to Prague and back for as little as $140, but you will have to travel from one of London’s outlying airports (Gatwick, Stansted or Luton) and probably very early in the morning or late afternoon. You can get a return from London Heathrow to Prague on a regular airline and at a more civilised time for as little as $260 (inc. taxes) if you book now. Flight times for the return sector look to be generally more benign. These prices were obtained for outbound May 18 and return May 23. May 19-22 is not much different.

London has four airports from which you can fly to Prague (which has only one airport – called Ruzyne, code: PRG). London’s airports are: Heathrow (LHR)-this is the main one, which doesn’t handle budget airlines); Gatwick (LGW-a mix of regular and budget); Stansted (STN, budget only); and Luton (LTN, budget only). The latter three all have low-budget carriers but are further out of town. Travel between any of these four is complicated, expensive and time-consuming, so your options may be dependent upon which of London’s airports you fly into from the US/Canada.

Carriers between London and Prague are:

The "low cost" carriers may be a false economy as-at present, at least-they don’t seem very much cheaper than CSA or BA, especially if you have to change airports to use them. All in all you’d not be far out if you were to think in terms of $300 return as a working figure.
