AQR QRCA Worldwide Conference on Qualitative Research

Program & Presenters

When qualitative research does more than inform - when it inspires decisions or actions that make a difference - how and why does that happen?

Themes

"We are delighted about the fantastic response to our call for presenters – over 100 submissions, from all over the world! And better still, these are of an extremely high standard. We are currently reviewing them all to decide how to fit in as many as possible of these great ideas. This means that unfortunately we will have to turn a large number who responded – but on the positive side we can already see the potential for our Conference to have some FANTASTIC content which will certainly live up to our intention to INSPIRE everyone who attends. So book May 19-21 in your diary – you will not be disappointed!" ~ Julia Gartside-Spink, UK, Program Committee

  • Inspiring outcomes - How do qualitative approaches, frames of thinking, or analysis fan the flames of creativity and innovation? How does qualitative research help turn inspiration into action for new products, advertising, brand and marketing strategy, policy, or other outcomes?  Most inspiring moments – for practitioners, client users, or their targets?
  • Future-focused Inspiration - How have new technologies and emerging approaches inspired and challenged?  How can the 'qualitative heart' thrive in digital and tech-enabled research? Share and debate new ways of working -- from social networks through new media to Web 3.0 and other 'enablers'.
  • Inspiration in testing times - How has qualitative resourcefulness coped - even triumphed! - in straightened and 'crunched' times? What about the disadvantaged 'non-consumer'? How has qualitative helped shape social and policy outcomes against the odds?
  • Whose inspiration is it anyway? - Co-creation, shared forums, ethno-interviewing, and other qual approaches -- triggered by clients' desires to get closer to their targets -- continue to emerge from commercial, academic, and other disciplines.  What works, how, and where has inspired thinking helped realise valuable outcomes?
  • Inspired professionals? - Are qualitative researchers a unique breed? How can they develop, understand, and pass on their most powerful and effective skills and qualities? What qualitative insights inspire them? How do they inspire clients, peers and team workers?

Formats

To maximize the sharing of ideas among all who attend, the conference will include longer and shorter sessions:

  • Presentations & Panels lasting 30-60 minutes, some of which will include an interactive element
  • Rapid Idea Exchanges featuring shorter inspirational ideas that fit into an interactive Pecha Kucha or Poster session – for more info, click here.

Conference discounts for presenters
