Industry Relations Committee Recognizes Randi Stillman for Representing QRCA at AMA

On March 21, Randi Stillman (Atlanta, GA) presented a one-hour webcast to American Marketing Association (AMA) members on "Market Research and Competitive Intelligence: Partners in the Marketing Toolbox". This was one of a series of member-only webcasts that QRCA has partnered with the AMA to produce, featuring subject matter experts addressing a range of current topics.
In her webcast, Randi identified practical ways in which marketing and market research (MR) professionals can apply the skills of competitive intelligence (CI) to obtain a complete picture of a marketplace in motion and the resulting consumer experiences. Highlights of her presentation included:
- Key ways MR and CI differ in practice;
- A practical framework to align MR and CI methods;
- Case studies demonstrating the value of integrating MR and CI for solving problems and capturing opportunities.
During the webcast, Randi referenced QRCA and described the "Find a Researcher” database as a great source of talented professionals with experience in a range of methods used in CI. These methods include: in-depth interviews with client stakeholders, competitors, and industry experts; bulletin board focus groups; conference-based small group discussions; and social media search and analysis for competitor (not just consumer) information that impacts marketing decisions.
