Welcome to These New QRCA Members!

Meet these members who joined QRCA in May:

Sumeet Anand
I am a passionate consumer insights and brand communication professional with a decade of experience. I have worked extensively in the area of market research, consumer insights, product & brand management and marketing semiotics. I have a strong inclination towards studying communication process and a special knack for consumer insights.

I graduated from University of Delhi in 2005, Full-time MBA in Advertising in 2008 from Symbiosis International University (Pune) and joined Nielsen, Delhi as Research Executive (Qualitative). Subsequently, I worked with IMRB Intl as Research Manager (Quantitative). In my last full-time assignment, I worked with AkzoNobel India Limited, Gurgaon (makers of Dulux Paints), initially as Consumer Insights Manager and then as Brand Manager for their Premium and Mass Premium portfolio.

I was a full-time research scholar from 2013-15 pursuing PhD in Applied Semiotics in Branding from FMS (DU). During that time, I authored and presented many research papers in this area in International Conferences. And, I also served as guest faculty to some leading private universities in Delhi NCR teaching Marketing and Business Management. At present, I am in the final year of my PhD submission, which is due in April 2018.

Since 2015, I am closely involved in Marketing Semiotics studies with Leapfrog Consulting (a brand strategy consultancy specialising in Semiotic approach) as an independent consultant.

My first love, i.e. Qualitative research, still alive, makes me a much sought-after moderator. I continue to work with leading MR agencies like Nielsen, TNS, IMRB, Dragonfly, Third Eye on studies ranging from Brand Equity, Positioning and Communication Check to Need-Gap, Usage & Attitude, etc., with diverse clients.

In a parallel life, I am a classically trained musician and perform classical and popular music. I love meeting people, travelling, trying out new cuisines and outdoor sports activities, all of which are shared interests with my partner in crime, my wife Ritika, who is a social researcher now working in project management in the social sector.

Rebecca Bukele
My name is Rebecca Bukele and I lead the qualitative research and insights team at Latinum Network in San Salvador, El Salvador. I have more than four years of experience (previous work experience at Ipsos) and have conducted a wide variety of qualitative research projects on Hispanic and multicultural consumers. I was born in Miami, raised in El Salvador and of Arab origin. My multicultural background and natural curiosity have led me to travel the world, experiencing new cultures, traditions and meeting new people. This further developed within me a desire to understand humans and the decisions they make, thus I decided to pursue my career in market research. I hold a BA in Commerce from the University of Virginia (marketing and management concentrations) and an MS from IE Business School (Madrid) in Market Research and Consumer Behaviour. I am also a RIVA-trained qualitative moderator.

I am super-excited to be part of this organization and look forward to learn more about new qualitative trends, methodologies and ways to present the data.

Matthew Taylor
G’day! My name is Matthew and I am a PhD student at the University of Sydney, Australia. A biomedical engineer by training, my PhD has taken a unique spin and is including qualitative research projects as well. My main area of research interest is Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), the use of electricity to activate muscles. This is used to assist people with paraplegia to perform exercise.

Currently I’m working full-time on my PhD in Sydney, Australia. I also teach anatomy and am involved in private tutoring. I enjoy teaching and it is my dream to be a lecturer in the future.

When I’m not writing my thesis….I enjoy going to one of the many beaches we have in Australia. I also go to the gym, and recently purchased a bicycle.

Until 2015, I never left Australia. Since, I have visited six countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia), and hope to add the USA to my list one day! You only live once, and I want to meet as many people as possible across the world. I’m also passionate about Japanese culture; the photo of me is at Shinsaibashi, a major shopping and food district near Osaka, Japan.
