Arriving Early? Join Us for Dinner!

Abby Leafe,

If you are ready for some quality time and lots of fun with your QRCA colleagues in New Orleans, come and join us for the Early Arrivals dinner at Poppy's Time Out Sports Bar and Grill on Tuesday night!

For first time attendees, it’s a great way to meet other QRCA’ers in a casual setting.  And for conference veterans, it’s a great way to start reconnecting with friends.  Plus, the logistics are simple: The restaurant will provide everyone with separate checks, so you just pay for your own meal.

If you're interested in joining us, please email the Early Arrivals mastermind, Anne Hooper,  (She'll be sending out more details as the date gets closer).

Hope to see you there!

Get Ready to Explore New Orleans on Foot!

Steve Hudson,

This year, conference attendees who want to get in a little exercise and do some sightseeing will find two delightful Healthy Connections activities from which to choose:

  • Thursday:  Get a healthy start by joining your fellow QRCs for a stroll through the French Quarter, the oldest and most storied neighborhood in New Orleans.  The Vieux Carré, as it is known, has been designated a national historic landmark.  Many buildings date back to the 1700s.  Let this colorful district wake up mind and body for the day ahead!

    Map of New Orleans riverfront and French Quarter, where you can enjoy a fun stroll!

  • Friday:  Take in the flavor of New Orleans by joining your fellow QRCs for a riverfront walk past Woldenberg Park and up to the famous Café du Monde.  We’ll stop in for chicory coffee and beignets (ok, maybe not the healthiest fare, but delicious!) before hopping on the Riverfront streetcar back to the hotel.

    Enjoy world famous coffee and beignets at Café du Monde after a riverfront walk.

Participants should meet in the lobby downstairs at 7:30 each morning to start the day off right.

Call for Papers: PMRG’s Healthcare Marketing Researchers CONNECT

by Caroline Volpe, PMRG Liaison, and Industry Relations Committee

PMRG (Pharmaceutical Marketing Research Group) has retooled and renamed its Annual National Conference to reflect a broader scope and focus on connection of professions, ideas and sectors across and beyond the healthcare industry.  The next conference will be held at the Gaylord National Hotel in National Harbor, MD, March 15-17, 2015.

QRCA members are being invited to submit proposals for this conference. You do not have to be a member of PMRG to do so.  You don’t even need to have a healthcare/ pharmaceutical focus.
The agenda will include a variety of fully-vetted sessions and discussion forums, a Global Partner Expo featuring 85 booths (QRCA will have a presence), 22+ hours of networking and leading-edge keynote speakers including Stefani Klaskow from Google and Gautam Jaggi from Ernst & Young, exposing attendees to innovative methods, recommended practices and ideas to bring back to the office.

Speaker submissions do need to be in line with the year’s theme: Next Level Thinking: Broaden Your Insights, Optimize Your Impact.  The goals of the conference will be to help attendees better-understand:

  • How changes to the healthcare landscape affect framing and prioritization of key business issues;
  • How to best address key business questions from a methodological standpoint;
  • How to utilize new data technologies;
  • How to synthesize and leverage insights within a broader business model and context.

As appropriate, cross-sector examples will be used to help illustrate ways other industries have met challenges similar to those now confronting the healthcare industry.

QRCA submissions will be reviewed by a QRCA review committee as well as the PMRG Program Committee.  QRCA members who are selected to speak at the conference will have their session branded as QRCA sessions.

For details on submitting a proposal, visit the PMRG website
Submissions are due by November 15, 2014 and should be made directly to PMRG. Submissions from QRCA members will be forwarded to QRCA for review, so please make sure to check that you are a QRCA member when you send in your submission, even if you are also a PMRG member.  Questions?  Contact Caroline Volpe at

Please spread the word so that QRCA shines at this event!

Hope to see you in Maryland!
