Real-World Examples, Real-World Insights. Behavioral Economics. Emerging Approaches. Moving from Theory to Action. Hybrid Approaches. Borrowing from Other Disciplines. And the list goes on ...

It is a hugely exciting time to be qualitative researcher! Thanks to advances in science and technology, we have more powerful ways than ever of understanding consumer behavior.

QRCA and AQR are delighted to announce the 7th Biannual Worldwide Conference on Qualitative Research. This not-to-be-missed event will be in Budapest, Hungary and will run from Wednesday, 30th April to Friday 2nd May 2014. The conference will be conducted at the Budapest Marriott Hotel, overlooking the River Danube in the heart of the city (on the Pest side).

This year’s content includes a wonderful mix of chaired sessions and interactive poster presentations, with themes hand-picked to combine cutting-edge thought with broad relevance to anyone working in qual research. And it’s a truly international menu, with speakers drawn from 11 countries – from China to Poland to Zambia – including several papers on what we can learn from qual practice in other cultures.

If you want some insights into the caliber of the 2014 speakers, take a few minutes and watch interviews with Maya Middlemiss, Nikki Lavoie, Ilka Kuhagen, Rebecca Bryant and Deanne Manfredi.

Here's a sampling of a few program from this conference:

  • Setting our course: qualitative research and its context
  • Making it inclusive: engaging with hard to reach audiences
  • Putting the participant first: partners on the journey
  • One world, many cultures: going beyond maps and guidebooks
  • Millennial matters: young apprentices
  • Updating your toolkit: gamification and new approaches
