User experience (UX) research continues to grow by leaps and bounds. And there’s no big mystery about how to do it; your qualitative research skills not only translate brilliantly to UX research, qualitative researchers in fact bring something to the table that traditional UX researchers don’t. This presentation will explore the basics of UX research, and provide some practical insight and guidance to those who are thinking about adding UX to their résumé or practice.

Topics to be covered include:

  • What is UX?
  • How is it used within organizations?
  • How do my qualitative skills apply to UX?
  • Tips and tricks for running your first UX project
  • Careers in UX – Insights from working professionals on how to use UX to build your résumé and grow your career
