Description

Program Evaluation Through a Qualitative Lens

Have you heard about program evaluation, and not been sure if it something you could do? Want to understand how your skills and experience fit? We can help! At its core, program evaluation is measuring the activities a program or initiative is delivering, and the type of change these inputs generate in the target audience. Examples include: programs to reduce/prevent gang involvement for at risk youth, reach/effectiveness of a jobs training program for recent graduates, and impact of fees on desired physician behaviors. The collection and integration of qualitative data from program participants and stakeholders is key to the quality of the evaluation.

In this workshop, Lesley Duncan, PhD, Principal at Lesley Duncan Consulting, will work with us to understand the different types of program evaluation frameworks and objectives. We will highlight where qualitative methods add context, richness, and utility to the potentially stark number crunching aspect of the program evaluation process. The workshop will include templates and the opportunity to work together to construct logic models, the basis for most evaluations.

Metaphors + Moderators: A ZMET®️ Workshop

ZMET®️ is a patented research method that centers around metaphors: the tendency for humans to interpret new experiences using pre-existing mental models. This research method uncovers respondents' deepest thoughts and feelings—both conscious and unconscious. These deep insights drive true consumer understanding to inform better strategic thinking for branding, positioning, and innovation.

Our featured speaker, presenting remotely from the East coast, is Jessica Kukreti, the Managing Director of Experience and Innovation at Olson Zaltman. She will lead us through a workshop to help us understand the method, how and why we create metaphors, and spoken and visual metaphors. Then we will dive into practicing how we can apply what we learned and make metaphors actionable for clients.
