Sometimes advice from coaches can be helpful but not 100% actionable because they might not 'get' what we do as researchers, consultants, strategists, project managers, etc. Not here though. Both Chris and Steve have worked in our space as market researcher business owners.

Steve August is a serial entrepreneur, digital artist and business coach with a number of successful exits to his name. The consistent thread throughout his career has been a fascination with the creative application of technology, working on everything from clay animation, to multimedia production, to museum exhibit design. From 2006 until 2014, he was Founder and CEO of Revelation, a market research software company that he took from idea stage to a multimillion dollar exit. He has taken a lap around the C-Suite and boardrooms in private equity backed companies, serving as CEO, CMO and Chief Innovation Officer of FocusVision. Over the course of is career his companies have served a myriad of world class clients including Facebook, Twitter, Proctor & Gamble, Pfizer, Phillips and many others. August & Wonder, his last endeavor, creates incredible smart sculptures that inform while creating a sense of wonder.

As early as her teenage years, Chris was interested in the world of business. She launched her career after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Chris’ post-university business career spans over 30 years and included marketing roles working in public and private corporations. After nearly 11 years in corporate roles, Chris became an entrepreneur and started CSK Marketing, Inc. Chris frequently speaks and writes on marketing/market research topics and has served in many leadership roles in the Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA), including as Past President.

In 2015, Chris expanded to build her coaching business. She brings her deep devotion to self-awareness, and her knowledge of corporate environments, career transitions and work/life challenges to her work as a Registered Corporate Coach. From 2013-2017, Chris shared her coaching and personal growth insights as the host of the Mind Body Spirit Living radio show/podcast, with episodes still available on iTunes Podcasts.
