Travel Information

Surprisingly, travel to Charlotte is among the easiest in the United States. Charlotte is a hub airport for several airlines.

More information about Charlotte International Airport can be found on the airport website here.

Travel to the hotel from the airport: We recommend using an Uber or a taxi. The hotel does not offer an airport shuttle. Charlotte public transportation is simple and plentiful, so you can take the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) from the Airport to Charlotte Transportation Center in Uptown. The Transportation center is less than a mile from the Le Meridien/Sheraton Charlotte Hotel.

International travelers: The best thing to do is apply for any visa you need through the US Embassy in your country. You may also wish to check your own government's website on advice that’s given on requirements specific to your country. A visa of some type is required for all travelers from Europe. Some countries are part of a visa waiver program called ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization). This still requires an online application and is usually valid for trips of up to 90 days for a two-year period. These should be completed at least three weeks before travel to avoid any issues, although it can be approved within a few hours—within 72 hours is the norm. Those from the European Union (EU) are eligible.

For those not in the EU, there are unique requirements for each country; please check your nation’s websites for advice and the US Embassy website in your country.

Generally, the visa you need to enter the US for a business conference is the B-1 visa. Here is the information from US Department of State website: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html

On top of this, you must be able to demonstrate that every traveler has had at least two COVID vaccinations from a list of approved vaccines. The airlines will share the process and those requirements when you book your travel to Charlotte.
