Overview of February 23 QRCA Monthly Board of Directors Meeting

Association Business

Congratulations and thank you to our newly appointed leaders:

• Susan Newhouse, Creativity & Innovation SIG
• Z Johnson, PNW Co-Chair

The Board discussed proposed policy changes to the QRCA Conference Policy Document.

Changes to the policy document included:

• Ensuring a board member or Board representative visits the Conference location prior to selection
• Ensuring everyone in attendance of official events always has a badge
• Limiting discounts to deductions off the full individual price only
• Communicating QRCA does not pay to print handouts
• Updating the policy on Speaker Agreements

Financials

• QRCA finished the year with a $39K deficit before investments. Revenue underperformed compared to the budget by -7% and expenses performed within 0.1% of budget.
• Revenue in 2025 that was lower than projected included membership dues, Worldwide Conference income and VIEWS advertising.
• The (operating) checking account at has a balance of $336K.
• Reserves in the brokerage account are ~$345K.

Strategic Discussion

• The Board is moving forward on initiatives discussed at the productive strategic session in San Antonio.
• Since then, Lisa met with Cher Chislett and Jeff Hecker (MarCom Chair) regarding starting the new monthly newsletter, which will replace Connections and Edge.
• VIEWS is looking into its own e-newsletter, with new articles released every two weeks.
• The Board received an update regarding the website platform, Tradewing. They are removing their existing web-builder and will integrate with a WordPress site, WebFlow. Lisa is working to get a WebFlow developer.

Next Board Meeting will be scheduled for March 23.
