Overview of December 15 QRCA Monthly Board of Directors Meeting

  • The new Qual Trailblazer Grant was announced. It is sponsored by Zintro for $5,000 to cover (5) 2026 Annual Conference registrations. The call for applications will close at the end of December. The goal is to announce winners by Jan 15.
  • Jay Zaltzman voted in as new Industry Relations Committee Co-chair, to serve alongside Kelly Heatly.
  • There are currently 38 members who pay in installments via our YourMembership web platform, which we will be moving away from.
  1. The Board noted that we do want to keep monthly installment payments because it offers financial flexibility for members. It is also easy to implement in Tradewing, our new platform.
  2. There is a 2.9% charge plus 30 cents per transaction, making the transaction costs for QRCA higher for monthly payments.
  3. The Board discussed monthly cost options for individual and NewQ members.

Financials

  • The Board discussed assets in the checking account and investments. Operating checking account currently has $137k. Reserves in the brokerage account are at ~$345k.
  • Net income before investments for 2025 is projected to be a loss of $32k.

2026 Annual Budget

  • GMOC (Governance Management Oversight Committee) previously reviewed the budget and had no changes, though recommended that it be reviewed again in the Spring after the Annual Conference income and expenses have been accounted for. GMOC and ExCom plan to meet in late March.
  • The VIEWS committee requested $15K for designing/formatting for their 2026 budget. The Board discussed ways to reduce these costs to bring them down to a budget of $5k, which was approved by the Board.

Strategic Discussion

  • All IDIs are nearly completed. Board member leaders for each segment will create their own written analysis.
  • Maria will also create a shared report template on Google Sheets for easy comparison across segments.
  • Analysis will be delivered to our marketing firm KWSM in early January.

Next Board Meeting will be scheduled for January 12.
